This site is a connection point for our family and friends, a place where we can share our photos, thoughts and experiences.
Donna and Lee are preparing to embark on an open-ended trip through the U.S., staying where the weather is kind and the people are friendly. We hope to spend time in every state in the Union, visiting old friends and making many new ones.

Hunting Island State Park, SC. If you have never been there, we highly recommend it. While we have never stayed at the campgrounds we have investigated the rest of the park - can't beat the view from the top of the lighthouse or sitting on Paradise Pier - so rightfully named. We have visited about 10 times and every time we've been there, we have watched dolphins play - the first time while we on the beach they were playing in the ocean. Every time after that we've tried to be on Paradise Pier when the tide was turning.
The decision to "hit the road" was not taken lightly, we've researched the options for several years and have worked our way through this dream lifestyle. The lifestyle was not foreign to us, we both grew up in families that had cottages on lakes. Donna's parents full-timed it for 22 years, until her dad died in 2009. We saw how they lived and admired their ability to travel. We even had a pop-up camper when our children were small and experienced great adventures in the Eastern half of the US.
Now the kids are gone, and we want to see it all. Our goal is not to just see every state in the Union, but to experience it, taking our time to enjoy different walks of life. We will focus on nature and wildlife because we both love the peace and quiet. I think Hunting Island State Park showed us that - we first visited Hilton Head, SC and it was very nice, but commercial and crowded. When we saw the dolphins playing in the ocean at HISP we fell in love. It's our roots, relaxing beside water and watching what God has put before us.
Last fall we had the opportunity to visit our daughter in Port St Lucie, Florida; Lee for a week (had to get back to work) and Donna stayed an extra week (currently unemployed). When Lee returned the weather turned cold in Ohio and if not for a great love of her husband, Donna would have stayed in Florida for the winter. She flew home, but has been very tempted to take the motor home and head south. It's been a cold, snowy winter, hopefully our last in Ohio. From now on it's only sunny, warm weather for us - if we want snow we'll go visit a mountain top!
Hope you enjoy our adventures and the pictures we'll be sharing with you.
